Our annual MOTM Australia Day BBQ Breakfast was once again held in the South Parklands as per the previous few years. The evening before saw some very wet and stormy weather with a fair bit of rainfall. I made a call to Ross and he visited the site and gave it the all clear and the following morning saw about 40 odd cars turn up, as always one of our best events for the year. Unlike the previous week we were lucky to get overcast conditions which was a welcome change from trying to find a tree to hide under out of the sun.
Thanks to our committee members and a few volunteers the BBQ was fired up and breakfast began and as per previous years the coffee van was very popular. It was good to see the cars all lined up on the grass, then we moved on to what has become a standard event with the auction and John Bader’s talent at getting every possible dollar for each item, all in the name of charity. We raised over $973 on the day for Beyond Blue and Save the Dignity which was a great result.
Once again a very successful day and thanks to all of the members who turned up and thanks to all who helped out or donated items for the auction.
