Sometimes the weather works out, the morning was crisp certainly however rain was not on the horizon and the chance of seeing a bit of sunshine later in the day looked pretty good. One of our members seemed fairly confident as he had the top down on his convertible obviously rain was not an option.
Our start point was just past the entrance to the Zoo in Plane Tree Drive, the Mustangs were an impressive sight, a fact not lost on the people passing by on their morning walk.
This was our day to “return to Tuscany” or rather Osteria Sanso a delightful restaurant situated at Kanmantoo on the old Princes Highway, but first a coffee stop at Lobethal. The road we took certainly highlighted the Autumn leaves and slowed the Mustangs down, to say it was winding would be an understatement however the scenery was good. Now about that coffee stop it was the Amberlight Motor Cycle Café one of two in Lobethal, the other being closed on Sundays. Needless to say the café was packed, however the staff did a great job and in due course we all got our order and judging by the laughter all the MOTM crew were having a good time.
Then on the road again to lunch, a straighter track this time in pleasant sunshine to Kanmantoo. Mustangs On The Move had a reserved spot on the verandah protected by clear blinds and found it very comfortable with sunshine streaming through. Osteria Sanso has a good reputation for food, they certainly lived up to this as the meals were superb.
Not only was Sunday 17th May the date for our “Return to Tuscany” club run it was also Member No. 50 Jesse Giesecke’s birthday. A “cake” arrived with a candle and we heard a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” the singing ably led by Tim Jesse’s father.
Thank you to our members who got their Mustangs out of the stable for the day.
